Double Your Impact
Employers encourage their employees to give back in their communities. Many take this opportunity to add a financial benefit. Ask your companies about Volunteer Involvement grants, which convert your volunteer hours into funds to your organization, and Employee Matching Funds programs, which can double your cash donation with a matching check from your employer.
A shining example of doubling your impact is Kate Godby and her employer HP Enterprise. A few years ago, Kate established the “She Believes She Can, So She Does” scholarship fund which benefits girls who are continuing their education after graduating from high school. Kate’s personal donation doubles when she submits it through the matching program. Along with other donations from supporters, the scholarship fund has grown to over $26,000!

Many employers participate in the United Way Annual Campaign, which allows employees to contribute to a charity of choice through payroll deduction. Also, many companies will match their employee’s charitable contributions through matching gifts programs.
