Escape to the pines for a weekend that feels like pure magic at Camp Darden. This is your chance to unplug, breathe in that crisp fall air, dive back into the camp traditions you’ve always loved, and experience the kind of laughter that only happens when you’re surrounded by fellow Girl Scout adults who get it. Whether you’re rekindling old memories or making brand new ones, the energy is warm, welcoming, and wonderfully nostalgic.

This uplifting getaway blends outdoor adventure, meaningful connection, and personal renewal, featuring your favorite Girl Scout activities like kayaking, paddle boarding, tie-dye, friendship bracelets, s'mores around the campfire, a giant Jenga tournament, wine tasting with Girl Scout cookie pairings, and much more!

Located in Courtland, Virginia (just a few minutes from Franklin), Camp Darden boasts 105 acres of beauty and has been a favorite of Girl Scout campers for generations.

Camp in whatever way feels right for you! Camp Darden offers lodges, cabins, and platform tents. Select your preference during registration and we will do our best to accommodate. Individuals with accessibility concerns will have priority when assigning sleeping arrangements. If you’d like to attend as a group (troop reunions — we see you!) simply decide on a troop name to use during registration.

This weekend getaway costs just $65 per person and includes food and beverages. (We will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions. If you have specific dietary concerns, please contact philanthropy@gsccc.org.) Souvenir T-shirts (think tie-dyeing!) are available for an additional $10 while supplies last!

FAQ

Do I have to be a current Girl Scout member to participate?

No. However you are encouraged to join to have added insurance to cover your weekend activities. Without a current membership, you assume full, personal liability.

Are both women and men welcome to attend?

Unfortunately, the Women’s Camping Retreat weekend is an all-woman event. However, we host other incredible events throughout the year where we’d love to have you!

Am I able to smoke or vape on the camp property?

No. All Girl Scout properties are tobacco/vape free areas.

Do I need to bring my own toiletries and towels?

Yes. A packing list will be provided by Monday, September 28th. If you register past this date and have not received your welcome information within one business day, please email philanthropy@gsccc.org.

Will the menu accommodate special dietary needs?

GSCCC will collect dietary restriction information during registration and will try to accommodate all needs; however, if you have specific concerns, please contact philanthropy@gsccc.org for tentative menu information as you may wish to bring specific accommodations.

Can we organize a group and share one unit?

Yes! Camp Darden has several areas or units with platform tents. They have access to the bathhouse and include fire circles. If you’d like to register as a group, simply decide upon a “Troop name” to use during registration, and we will camp you together when assigning sleeping arrangements.

Will all activities be outdoors?

No; activity hours will include indoor and outdoor options. Pick your preference or split your time!
