About Our Show: The Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouting. To earn this unique award, Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors (girls in grades 9-12) tackle issues dear to them and drive lasting change in their communities and beyond. In each episode of our podcast, we will meet a changemaker who has earned this award or one of the adult volunteers who help make this monumental feat achievable through their support and mentorship.
Meet Isabella Orosco, a a performer, playwright, podcaster and Gold Award Girl Scout whose current focus is on the power and representation of women in the horror genre. From earning her Gold Award by helping others protect their identities through cybersecurity, to reaching for the stars in the fim industry, Isabella is out to shine a spotlight on things that matter.
Meet Caryn McGrenra, a Gold Award Girl Scout who used her lifelong passion for helping animals to make the world a better place. From earning her Gold Award to now serving her community as a veterinarian, Caryn loves to make a difference.
Meet Claire Askew, a 2024 National Gold Award Girl Scout, who used her passion as a changemaker to address childhood obesity through accessible recreational spaces and education about healthy habits. A mother-daughter duo! Girl Scout Ambassador Susie earned the Girl Scout Gold Award by completing a service project to introduce her community to fine arts experiences. Co-leader of Troop 52 in Moyock, North Carolina, Sandi has been on the Girl Scout journey with her daughter for the past ten years.
