All girls have dreams. But Girl Scouts have the tools and support to make theirs come true.
At this very moment, Girl Scouts are discovering new interests, testing their skills, and eagerly raising their hands in class. They’re saying no to bullies, speaking up for the environment, and finding new ways to use technology for good.
The research provides compelling evidence that Girl Scouts stand out significantly from non–Girl Scouts, demonstrating more well-rounded lifestyles and a stronger propensity for success.
Working with your team, we can provide Girl Scout programming that aligns with your standards and curriculum. Compared to non–Girl Scouts, Girl Scouts are more likely to:
Volunteer-Led Troop Experience
Guided by a trained Girl Scout volunteer, schools provide a safe space on school property for groups of Girl Scouts (called troops) to meet and explore Girl Scout programming throughout the school year.
Staff-Led, In-School Experience
Guided by a trusted school staff member, Girl Scouts explore standards-aligned programming that’s integrated during the school day or as an after-school activity. We provide your staff member with training on Girl Scout programming.
Custom Troop Experience
A customized, program-focused troop experience that allows your school to adapt Girl Scout programming to meet your students’ needs. Activities can be held throughout the year, either during or after school, and are led by a trained Girl Scout mentor or staff member.
A one-time Girl Scout–sponsored program led by trained Girl Scout volunteers at your school to benefit your students (e.g., a kindergarten-readiness event, family STEM night, etc.).
This is a common question and concern of many schools and educators, who are concerned about inclusivity. It is important to reaffirm the data around girl-only spaces.
In girl-only spaces, girls feel free to talk about issues they wouldn’t necessarily talk about with boys, try out new activities without a fear of failure, and experience less pressure to look or act a certain way.
“Girls who spend enough time in a single gender setting do better in terms of leadership, self-esteem, and achievement in the present and in the future.” – Dr. JoAnn Deak
Research suggests that single-gender environments are particularly beneficial for girls during transition periods of development (such as middle school) and in settings that have been traditionally dominated by boys or men, such as STEM subjects and physical education and sports.
