A Place for Girls serves as the headquarters and program center for
the Girl Scout Council of the Colonial Coast. In addition to office
and business operations, the facility includes a shop
with Girl Scout merchandise and several activity rooms including:
- Performing Arts Room
- Crafts Room
- Industrial
kitchen
- Fun Room (ideal for troop sleepovers and specialty
workshops)
- Conference area
- Fitness trail
- Nature Center (The Outback)
The Outback, an 8.5 acre nature area located behind A Place for
Girls, is the ideal place to enjoy a hike, get up and moving on the
fitness trail, climb the outlook tower, canoe, or picnic in one of the
four pavilions on the property. The Outback is also a designated site
on the Virginia Birding and Wildlife Trail.
Adjacent to A Place for Girls is The Lodge, an annex property that
offers overnight accommodations along with an in-ground, salt-water pool.
Rooms at A Place for Girls, including the space at The Lodge, may be
reserved by Girl Scout members by using accessing the Volunteer Toolkit.
