A Place for Girls serves as the headquarters and program center for the Girl Scout Council of the Colonial Coast. In addition to office and business operations, the facility includes a shop with Girl Scout merchandise and several activity and meeting rooms.
The Outback, a 7 acre nature area, is located behind A Place for Girls. It’s the ideal place to enjoy a hike, get up and moving on the fitness trail, climb the observation tower, canoe, or picnic in one of the four pavilions on the property. The Outback is a designated site on the Virginia Birding and Wildlife Trail as well as a Lou Henry Hoover Memorial Sanctuary.
Adjacent to A Place for Girls and The Outback is The Lodge, an annex property that provides program space and overnight accommodations, along with an in-ground, salt-water pool and a gaga pit.
Rooms at A Place for Girls, including the space at The Lodge, are open year-round and are also available for outside rentals. View Facility Fees (PDF). Please contact customercare@gsccc.org on any facility or property rental inquiries.
