WTKR Honors Girl Scout Cora with Everyday Hero Award

CHESAPEAKE — WTKR News 3 has presented Girl Scout Cadette Cora with an Everyday Hero Award for her lifesaving actions during a Memorial Day pool party last spring.
When a 5-year-old jumped into the pool unsupervised and started to quietly struggle, Cora took action, jumped in and calmly guided the child to safety. She cited her Girl Scout training as helping her to remain calm in emergencies.
Cora was also presented with the Girl Scout Medal of Honor.
The station presented Cora with an Everyday Hero award, along with a $300 Visa gift card.
