Camp Fury Chesapeake was truly one of the most unique and amazing experiences I have ever had. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and supported by the incredible adults leading the camp. The firefighters, police officers, and staff were not only knowledgeable, but also kind, encouraging, and genuinely excited to teach us.
What made Camp Fury so special is that it gave me the chance to try things I would never get to do in everyday life. Every day was filled with hands-on activities that pushed me outside of my comfort zone in the best way possible. It’s the perfect camp for girls who are interested in careers like law enforcement, firefighting, or any field where you want to help others and make a difference.
Some of my favorite experiences are moments I will never forget. I climbed an 80-foot ladder on a fire truck, which was both terrifying and exciting—but it showed me how brave I can be. I rode in a fire truck and even got to use a real fire hose with the help of a firefighter. One of the coolest experiences was riding on a fireboat, a special watercraft used to fight fires, and actually getting to operate the powerful water equipment.
We also got to participate in police training activities, including an obstacle course that really tested my strength and determination. I learned how to safely handle equipment at a supervised training range, which taught me the importance of responsibility and focus. During the confined spaces challenge, I had to rely on my team and trust myself to make it through. That experience showed me that I am stronger and braver than I ever thought.
One of the best parts of Camp Fury was the teamwork. The girls supported each other through every challenge, and by the end of the week, I had made so many new friends. We encouraged each other, celebrated each other’s successes, and faced our fears together.
Camp Fury didn’t just teach me skills—it helped me grow as a person. I left camp believing in myself more, knowing that I can handle difficult challenges, and feeling inspired by the strong women who mentored us.
If you are looking for an adventure, want to try something new, or are curious about careers in emergency services, I highly recommend Camp Fury. It is truly a one-of-a-kind experience that will stay with you forever.
