Girl Scout Cookies are more than delicious treats, they’re entrepreneurial building blocks for Girl Scouts to create a more equitable future for themselves and the world! Cheers to all of the Girl Scouts, volunteers, and supporters who made the 2024 Girl Scout Cookie Program possible. We want to celebrate the achievements and effort that went into “owning your magic” this year! Let's look at some of the ways our top cookie sellers are celebrating their entrepreneurial success.
This year, 4,072 Girl Scouts in our area participated in the program and learned valuable skills along the way. With every transaction, our community and volunteers were invaluable in supporting Girl Scouts’ ability to learn, grow, and thrive through the program’s adventures. The best part is that all proceeds stay local to help fund life-changing, girl-led programs, experiences, and learning.
Post-season celebrations kicked off on Sunday, April 21. Our Top 10 Cookie Entrepreneurs traveled to Kitty Hawk Kites in North Carolina for a kite clinic where they got to design their very own kites. Afterwards, the group heard from Billy Vaughn at the Kitty Hawk hang gliding school. They finished the day with a trip to the North Carolina Aquarium! Our Top 10 Entrepreneurs for 2024 are Girl Scout Junior Sophia H. (IRM), Girl Scout Cadette Alexa R. (Troop 782), Girl Scout Senior Lorelei T. (Troop 1026), Girl Scout Ambassador Maureen K. (Troop 359), Girl Scout Ambassador Alexis V. (Troop 628), Girl Scout Cadette Kylie B. (IRM), Girl Scout Ambassador Elgin R. (IRM), Girl Scout Junior Chelsea S. (Troop 1205), Girl Scout Cadette Amiyah S. (IRM), and Girl Scout Brownie Sceva J. (Troop 1333).
Girls who earned the top Gift of Caring reward by selling 216+ boxes for Gift of Caring will receive complimentary entry to Girls Night Out with the Tides on May 31! This year, over 32,000 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies were designated for donation to the Gift of Caring program and will go on to benefit the USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia. The USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia has already begun distributing the donated Girl Scout Cookies to active duty service members in the Hampton Roads area.
We’d like to give a special shout-out to our 2024 Cookie Cupboard volunteers! These spectacular supporters ensured that their assigned service units had access to the inventory they needed to keep their cookie season rolling smoothly. This unique role requires volunteers to have open availability during cookie season and they knocked it out of the park.
On Saturday, April 27, Girl Scouts who chose an Axolotl Paint Party with their super seller points came to A Place for Girls in Chesapeake and enjoyed a private lesson with artist and Girl Scout alum Hailey George. The 2024 cookie season mascot, Lucy the Axolotl, was a very popular character this year!
We are so thrilled by the innovation, creativity, and business ethics witnessed throughout the 2024 Girl Scout Cookie Program! We sure had a magical time and can’t wait to see what next year’s program brings.
When girls participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, they’re part of the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world! Having the opportunity to run their very own cookie business gives girls priceless skills essential for life — today and into the future.
