This course is for adult leaders who are interested in learning about backpacking and/or taking their troops for one or more overnights on the trail. You will learn how to plan, prepare, and lead a backpacking trip with your troop, taking away important skills such as Leave No Trace, cooking on the trail, how to dig cat holes, how to hang a bear bag, and more! The class location varies each year. NOTE: You must provide your own gear such as tent/hammock, sleeping bag, hiking boots, backpack, etc.
All participants must attend the pre-course meeting which will be held on September 27, from 3pm-6pm at A Place for Girls.
Pre-requisites: Participants must have completed a Basic Troop Camping class and be physically able to hike and carry gear.
