Do you think you might like a career in the medical field? Find out what it's like to be a med student as you try your hand at different stations with the staff from the Macon & Joan Brock Sentara Center for Healthcare Simulation & Immersive Learning at Old Dominion University. Activities include Stop the Bleed techniques, patient-centered communication methods, high-tech surgical simulation, and even applying some Girl Scout knot-tying skills to surgical suturing! Participants will have the opportunity to speak with experts in the field and meet successful female STEM professionals.
Drop-off event: This event is for Girl Scout youth members only and event hosts will provide proper adult ratios. Adults may wait on site but, due to space constraints, may not be allowed in the activity spaces.
