Join us for a weekend training in outdoor skills at Camp Darden. We will expand on the Baisc Troop Camping course with an emphasis on fire building, outdoor cooking techniques, Advanced/Wilderness First Aid requirements, cooking without pots and pans as well as other optional topics and skills. Participants will leave with additional skills and confidence to take their troops on primitive/back-country overnight camping trips.
All participants must attend the planning pre-course, held February 8th in the Rotary Teen Room at APFG from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
All particpants are expected to sleep outdoors utilizing their personal equipment (hammock/tents) and may share with other particpants as needed. Based on seasonal/weather conditions, climate-controlled facilites may be available as back up. All food, supplies, and equipment are to be provided by the particpants using patrol planning checklists and discussed at the pre-course planning meeting.
