Meet Girl Scout alum Rebecca Weinstein! She is a classical announcer and content producer for WHRO FM. While growing up in Williamsburg, Virginia, she spent six years as a Girl Scout. Her troop meeting was held at the Windsor Forest Clubhouse in Williamsburg, across the street from her childhood home. Her mom was her Girl Scout leader.
“Being a Girl Scout helped me come out of my shell,” Rebecca said. “I made many of my earliest and closest friends through Girl Scouting. Looking back at the badges and awards she earned in Girl Scouts, she says the theater badge was her favorite. “It helped spark my love of performing!” She also recalls the fun she had camping as a Girl Scout and was a frequent camper at Camp Skimino, GSCCC’s camp located in Williamsburg. “Camping as a Girl Scout taught me the value of trying new things and going outside of my comfort zone.” And, of course, she also remembers selling Girl Scout Cookies; her favorite being Samoas.
