Backpack training is for adult leaders who are interested learning about backpacking, or in taking their troops for one or more overnights on the trail. You will learn how to plan, prepare and lead a backpacking trip with your troop. You will take away important skills such as Leave No Trace, cooking on the trail, how to dig cat holes, how to hang a bear bag, and more! The class location varies each year. NOTE: You must provide your own gear such as tent/hammock, sleeping bag, hiking boots, backpack, etc.
All participants must attend the pre-course virtual meeting held on November 14, 2025 at 7:00PM.
