This month, adult and girl members of Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast (GSCCC) took part in a community service project — Care Packages for the Military, and together, donated more than 5,000 travel size personal care items to be packed in care packages for our military members. Through an ongoing partnership between GSCCC and the USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia (USOHRVA), local Girl Scouts have been able to support our military heroes, for more than a decade, through various means of service.
Through the Gift of Caring program, made possible by an ongoing partnership with USOHRVA, Hampton Roads customers may purchase one or more boxes of Girl Scout Cookies and donate them to a special cause! GSCCC delivers donated cookies to the USO who will then distribute them to an active duty military or domestic veteran audience. Last year, over 50,000 boxes were donated locally to Gift of Caring.
Girl Scouts have been working hard to crush their Gift of Caring goals despite consecutive weekends of rain during cookie booths. They ask for the community's support through March 31, 2024, to help them realize their mission. Last year, over 50,000 boxes of cookies were donated with the community's help.
