Girl Scouts Love State Parks
Join in with Girl Scouts from around the country to show your love for our state parks! Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast is lucky enough to have eight unique state parks within our council and we’re inviting you to visit them and check out all that they have to offer. Be sure to visit their websites to explore their everyday offerings and other important information to know for planning your trip.
Our Council will be offering activities at three of our state parks, but we encourage you to visit any state parks you wish!
A Leave No Trace and/or community service activity will be offered at York River (July 13th), Chippokes State Park (July 13th) and Jockey's Ridge (July 14th). Girl Scouts are also encouraged to explore what Pettigrew, Merchant's Mill Pond, Dismal Swamp, First Landing, and False Cape state parks have to offer. For more information, visit their websites: (Virginia) https://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state-parks/find-a-park, (North Carolina) https://www.ncparks.gov/find-a-park.
Be sure to post pictures on social media of yourself or your group enjoying our state parks in your Girl Scout uniform or shirt using the hashtags #GSLoveStateParks and #GSCCC. Bring snacks or a lunch, and a refillable water bottle. The first 100 to register on ebiz will receive the Girl Scouts Love State Parks patch for free. After that, registration goes to $3 to pay for the cost of the patch which will be mailed to you after the event. NOTE: Some parks offer more challenging to access so be sure to visit their websites to plan accordingly.
This is a family friendly event for all Girl Scout levels!
