Waiting for a Troop

There's so much you can participate in and so many ways to explore Girl Scouts while you're waiting to join a troop. You can attend events or work on badges on your own. Check out all the Girl Scout fun you can have below!

(Did you know? Some Girl Scouts don't join a troop at all. These individually registered members who are not part of a troop are called "Juliettes" after our founder, Juliette Gordon Low.)

Events

As a Girl Scout, you can participate in any of the events our council has to offer! We offer program events based on every one of our four pillars: Outdoors, STEM (Science Technology, Engineering and Math), Life Skills and Entrepreneurship.

View the calendar of council events and sign up to attend one today!

Explore Patches

In addition to badges and journeys, our Council also offers an Explore Patch Program. We offer so many fun and educational patches for girls in grades K-12 to wear on the back of their vests or sashes to show off all of their fun activities!

Explore the GSCCC Patch Program and start earning fun patches!

Badges

You can work on earning badges by yourself while you wait for a troop placement! Just pick up a Journey book from the Girl Scout shop and start working. Learn how to start earning Girl Scout badges.

You can also view available troops in your area by logging onto your My GS account! Under your girl's name, select 'Add/Change Troops'. This will take you back to the 'Ways to Participate' page and provide you with the Opportunity Catalog of available Girl Scout troops near you. You can use the radius selection to increase the options by going 5, 10, or more miles from your zip code. If you find one you like, feel free to select that troop and let us know.
