Make a WAVE! Donate to the Camp Darden Pool Campaign
Girl Scouts of Colonial Coast has launched a two-year pool campaign for Camp Darden. The existing pool was built over 25 years ago, and it is now in need of replacement. Building a new pool to accommodate our campers is an exciting prospect, but it’s also an expensive undertaking estimated at $65,000.
Generations of Girl Scouts have fond memories of Camp Darden – memories that include fun times spent in the camp pool on summer days. The pool has given girls opportunities to build basic swimming skills and, for more experienced swimmers, to improve skills in preparation for water team sports or lifeguarding. Swimming is not only a fun and healthy activity, but it is an important skill for all children to have to ensure their safety in and around the water.
The pool is a necessary camp asset that will not only serve our campers, but it will increase the value of our property and keep us competitive among youth camp providers. We are confident that with the support of friends in the community, our Girl Scout alumnae and current members, we will accomplish our fundraising goal and have a pool ready for the 2013 camp season!
Make a splash and join the wave of support! If you would like to join the wave and help us build our camp pool, contact the GSCCC Philanthropy Department at (757) 549-0641.
