Community Service

Community Service has always been an integral part of Girl Scouts and was something our founder, Juliette Gordon Low, valued the most. Today, we encourage girls to make a difference in their neighborhoods, schools and places of worship through community service projects. Girls may also conduct Take Action projects that provide community service at a more in-depth level. Here’s the difference between a community service project and a Take Action project in Girl Scouts.

GSCCC offers several Council-wide community service opportunities that are listed in our GSCCC Girl Scout Magazine. You can also research opportunities in your community. The following organizations have directories of non-profits that you can consider contacting. They are not intended to be the only organizations for you to contact, but the list will give you a place to start and an idea of those in the community that can benefit from your gift of community service.
