After-school child care provides school age girls with activities that are organized around the Girl Scout keys to leadership: Discover, Connect and Take Action.
after-school care for school age girls is available from September to June at A Place for Girls in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Girls experience leadership opportunities based on values - the Girl Scout Promise and Law - and girls learn to lead through activities that are girl-led and hands-on.
-
Discover: Girls understand themselves and their values and use their knowledge and skills to explore the world.
-
Connect: Girls care about, inspire, and team with others locally and globally.
-
Take Action: Girls act to make the world a better place.
After-school activities encourage girls to maximize their creativity and imagination. The Girl Scout program goals are the foundation for all activities, with girls involved in planning and implementing their own activities and working on Girl Scout awards, such as Try-Its and badges.
