Camp Skimino sits
nestled on a beautiful 90-acre site that
includes a swimming pool and boating pond, a
large playing field, modern dining hall, two
shower houses, health lodge, a craft house and
housing units. Camp Skimino is accredited by the
American Camp Association (ACA) and meets not
only the stringent requirements of the ACA, but
those of Girl Scouts of the USA, and state and
local health codes.
Accommodations: Most girls, Juniors, Cadettes
and Seniors, sleep in open air platform tents with 4-5
other girls. The platform tents are above ground
on floors and have cots with mattresses. Most
Brownie campers will stay in cabins that have
bunk beds except for Outdoor Adventurers who
stay in tents. * chart below indicates which
campers will stay in cabins. |

Camp CEO
Now open to rising 9th graders!!
Have you ever wondered what it would
take to become a Chief Executive
Officer (CEO)? This camp is your
chance to find out!
Spend the week mixing and mingling
with senior businesswomen from the
surrounding areas. You’ll get the
chance to laugh and learn with lots
of planned activities and also
plenty of free time to choose what
you like. Discover from CEOs, what
you will need to become strong women
who will be the community leaders of
tomorrow.
The week will include all the
traditional camp activities. Units
will also get the chance to plan a
party, host one of the theme meals
in the dining hall including an
awards banquet or just spend an
afternoon chatting with a CEO to
find out about the journey that led
her to today.

Open
House
On Sunday, April 29, Camp Skimino
held open house. More than 100
guests toured camp, shopped for camp
merchandise and met the camp staff.
Wendy Scott has returned as the Camp
Director and is excited about this
upcoming camp season and the
addition of several sessions,
including the CEO camp session with
the support of the Southeastern
Virginia Chapter of the National
Association of Women Business
Owners. |
