The Girl Scout Council of Colonial
Coast offers a wide variety of
exciting program opportunities for
girls. Our activities reflect Girl
Scout Leadership Experience goals, and are:
- Designed to encourage
increased skill building and
responsibility
- Age appropriate
- Created to give girls
opportunities to develop
leadership and decision-making
skills
Here are some activity topics that
girls explore in council-sponsored
activities:
- Leadership
- STEM - Science, Math,
Engineering and Technology
- Community Service
- Health, Fitness and Sports
- The Arts
- Global Awareness
From summer camping to afternoon
workshops, girls may choose
activities that meet their needs and
interest. Activities are scheduled
at council property locations and
within the communities that we serve
- all in safe and friendly
environments. Trained volunteers,
consultants with expertise, and
staff members lead these activities.
Financial assistance is available to
assist girls in paying fees.
Safety Alert
Always remember to check the
Passenger Van Guidelines before
traveling to troop/service unit
events. 1. Phase out
15-passenger vans with smaller
7-passenger vans or the larger
bus-type vans.
2. Establish minimum
requirements for drivers of vans:
- Age 21 or older

Acceptable driving record
- CDL if required
- Drug and Alcohol screening

Completion of 15-passenger van
awareness training

Course/certification
- Training
and certification of all drivers
of vans
- Load distribution
training and policies
3. Mandatory seat
belt usage.
4. Do not transport
more than 10 occupants in a
15-passenger van.
