A Place For Girls
A Place for Girls, located on Cedar Road in Chesapeake, Virginia, is the regional headquarters and program center of the Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast.  The center opened its doors in 1996 with a vision of serving girls from all walks of life who would have a place to call their own – where they could embark on the path to womanhood surrounded by nature and positive role models.  

From computer workshops to environmental study, from the arts to health and fitness, A Place for Girls offers opportunities for girls to discover new things while developing their talents, connect with others and a chance to take action and get involved with projects that help their communities. The center features a performing arts room, a kitchen, a fun room for troop sleep-overs and specialty workshops, a conference area, a fitness trail and an 8.5 acre nature area – fondly referred to as “The Outback.”  

In addition to a 400 foot boardwalk that meanders through the nature area, The Outback includes pavilions for outdoor study programs and picnicking, and opportunities for girls to canoe on Bells Mill Creek, composed of tidal water that flows into the Elizabeth River just north of the Great Bridge Locks.

Camp Skimino
Camp Skimino is an American Camp Association accredited 90-acre camp located near Williamsburg, VA.  Camp Skimino is open to any girl - regardless of Girl Scout membership - in grades 1-12.

Camp Darden
Camp Darden is located near Franklin, VA and holds programs especially for girls in grades 7-12.  Facilities include a swimming pool, boating lake, dining hall, bathhouses, and Health Lodge.
